"Self portrait," Acrylic on canvas, 20" x 24"

"Cubicles," Acrylic on canvas, 40" x 30"

This is an example of a painting that starts off one way and really ends up very differently than intended. This piece actually came from a dream I had, and I could not get the image from the dream out of my head. I was desperate to paint it, so I actually used an old canvas that had an unfinished painting on it. The end result is not my favorite piece by any means, but at least it's out of my head.

"Teenage Purple Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 36" x 24" SOLD

This is one of the earliest paintings I did.  Looking back, it was more of a study than a true piece, but I think it is still pretty to look at, anyway.

"Fire Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 36" x 24" SOLD

Another early piece, I remember at first feeling overwhelmed with the emotion that this painting evokes.  It seems either very angry or very passionate.  Maybe both.  Either way, I liked the result.

"Ochre Field Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 36" x 24", NFS.

One of the first pieces I did.  I was very soft with the brush strokes, blending them away for the most part, which is very different from my more recent work.  Also notice how monochromatic it is, very different from recent work as well.

"Blue Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 24" x 30"

This one is also very soft and monochromatic, also one of my older ones.  Some people tell me they see a heart in the painting.  I'll leave interpretations up to you.

"Purple Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 30" x 40", NFS.

Again, very soft, but obviously this one has more colors in it, and I was also influenced a little by a couple decorative painting (faux) techniques that I had been using while painting in a residence at the time.

"Dad's Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 36" x 48", NFS.

I painted this with my father in mind.  This was based on his favorite colors, and the three brightest yellow areas are symbols for his three children.

"Metallic Dream," Acrylic on canvas, 48" x 36"

This was the first time I used some metallic paint in one of my paintings.

First blog ever

Hi All,

I'm making this blog as more of a "poor man's" website than a blog.  For years people have been asking me if I have a website where they can look at my paintings, and now I'll finally be able to say yes.  Sort of.  It's on the internet and people can look at my paintings, anyway, so it works.

If you have any comments or questions, or would like to inquire about purchasing something you see, please send me an email at ac_paintings@yahoo.com.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Adam Cochran
